My Tutoring Approach

I understand, from years of experience as an educator, that students have a range of approaches and abilities as writers. I can work with you on an "as needed" basis to complete a writing assignment, even last minute, or focus on the long term in order to help you grow as a writer and thinker. 

I strive for A+ work with every student. More importantly, I can help you identify initial faulty areas in your writing to the point where you learn to eliminate common errors in grammar, structure, or organization. I've worked on hundreds (hundreds!) of papers with students, and the pattern of mistakes has inspired my "Writing Pitfalls" cheat sheet of roughly 50 recurring items, which we will eliminate as we work together to improve your writing approach and skill level. 

I offer flexible scheduling, roughly from 6am to 10pm any day of the week, including weekends. Whether you need help after school or on weekends, I am here to help you succeed.

My fees vary, depending on your assignment. There is an obvious point of diminishing returns as a writing tutor. I realize that writing is difficult for many students, but I have found that students make common and predictable errors in their papers; we can address these within a relatively short time frame. 

I spent more than a decade publishing literary essays; the college essay is my area of specialization. Still, my tutoring services cover a range of writing-based subjects, including social studies and history research papers with Chicago Style citations; High School and College English essays. Whether you need help within a specific subject area or want to improve your overall academic performance, I am here to help.
